Pinellas County Emergency Rental Assistance Program
Financial help is available for Pinellas County renters who are behind on rent or at risk of missing a rent payment due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Pinellas County’s Emergency Rental Assistance Program covers eligible applicants’ missed and future rent payments.
Tenants may qualify if they:
- lost a job or significant income due to the COVID-19 pandemic,
- are behind on rent payments or at risk of missing a rent payment, and
- have a household income at or below 80% of the area median income (AMI).

Government Finance Officers Association in recognizing finance office professionals in
Pinellas County and throughout the state during Government Finance Professionals Week
being held from March 15 through 19, 2021.

Three Pinellas County constitutional officers were sworn in during a ceremony today, Tuesday, January 5, 2021. The event took place at the Historic Pinellas County Courthouse located at 324 South Fort Harrison Avenue in Clearwater. Effective January 1, 2021, Appeals of county court decisions pending before circuit courts and subject to the jurisdiction change will be transferred automatically to the appropriate district court of appeal. Beginning January 1, 2021, parties appealing certain county court decisions will have their appeal heard in the district courts (pursuant to ch. 2020-61, Laws of Fla.).
Continuing with a yearly tradition, the Pinellas Clerk’s office led with their hearts and collected a grand total of $5,744.75 through the sale of t-shirts, gift basket raffle tickets and donations during Domestic Violence Awareness Month. The monetary donation was divided between CASA and the Haven to further their lifesaving efforts in the county.
Two organizations worked closely with the office of Ken Burke, Pinellas County Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller, to pay off fines and costs of people who had a record of felony convictions.
The Clerk’s online copy request and payment system was recently replaced with an enhanced tracking and response system offered through GovQA. The new site is a one-stop shop for submitting citizen inquiries, copy requests, public records requests, and making payments for family mediation, outstanding civil case fees, and probate guardian fees.
The Pinellas Eviction Diversion Program is a new service offered by the Community Law Program which provides no cost virtual mediation services to qualified tenants impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic and landlords involved in eviction related disputes.
