    RECORDING SERVICES/OFFICIAL RECORDS: The Clerk of the Circuit Court is the County Recorder and is responsible for recording all of the Official Records of Pinellas County, Florida. In addition, the Recording Department indexes, and maintains archives of all the Official Records from 1912 to the present date. The Official Records index contains the type of document recorded, date of recordation, the official record's book and page and a name reference. In addition to our duties as the County Recorder, the Clerk's Recording Services/Official Records' responsibilities include issuing marriage licenses, performing marriage ceremonies, conducting tax deed sales and serving as an official passport application acceptance agent.


     
    RECORDING SERVICES CUSTOMERS PLEASE NOTE:
  • Effective July 1, 2013, court papers generated from Family Court Cases in the Civil Division or with a FD in the case number will now be indexed as DRCOURT – Domestic Relations Court within the Official Records. DRCOURT images are not available on a publicly available internet website for general public display per Florida Statute 28.2221(5)(a).
  • Effective July 1, 2013, court orders generated from Family Court Cases in the Civil Division or with a FD in the case number will now be indexed as DRJUDGMENT – Domestic Relations Judgment within the Official Records. DRJUDGMENT images are not available on a publicly available internet website for general public display per Florida Statute 28.2221(5)(a).
  • Effective July 1, 2013, Quit Claim Deeds presented to our Office for recording will now be indexed as Quit Claim Deed. It is recommended that the parcel number or folio number be included on all Quit Claim Deeds.
  • Effective October 19, 2009, transfers of real property generated from the Probate Court area will now be indexed as PROBATERP - Probate Real Property within the Official Records. PROBATERP document images are not available on a publicly available internet website for general public display per Florida Statute 28.2221 (5)(a).
  • Effective February 17, 2009, documents will be processed and recorded at the Clearwater and St. Petersburg courthouse locations. For your convenience, documents may be dropped off at the North County and Clerk's Tyrone Branch offices, to be forwarded to the Clearwater and St. Petersburg courthouse locations for recording. Location addresses and contact information. Please include a self-addressed envelope with your documents.
  • Effective April 14, 2008, the Pinellas County Clerk's Office will require customers to include a self-addressed, stamped envelope of sufficient size with proper postage with all documents submitted to be recorded. All recorded documents will be returned to the customer in the self-addressed, stamped envelope provided by the customer.

    E-Recording Service with the Pinellas County Clerk's Office

    The Pinellas County Clerk's Office is successfully eRecording with ACS Electronic Recordation Exchange, eRecording Partners Network, CSC, Simplifile and e-Docs Solutions. We are working to offer additional eRecord vendors. ERecording, or electronic recording, is the process of filing and recording documents with the Pinellas County Clerk of Court's Recording Office via the internet. This process would otherwise require documents be submitted by express mail, courier service or personal visit. With eRecording, customers can simply scan the original document to be recorded, convert it to an electronic image, add indexing information and with one click of the mouse submit it to the Pinellas County Clerk of Court's Recording Office.

    TAX DEED SECTION: This section processes the sale of property for non-payment of real estate taxes upon notification from the Pinellas County Tax Collector. Properties are offered for sale to the highest bidder in order to satisfy delinquent property taxes. The Clerk’s Office conducts the sale or public auction in accordance with Florida Statutes, Chapter 197 and the Florida Administrative Code, Chapter 12D-13.

    ONLINE TAX DEED SALES
    Effective December 15, 2010, online tax deed sales will be conducted at www.pinellas.realtaxdeed.com on scheduled sale days, beginning at 11:00 AM EST/EDT. (Please note: All times refer to EST or EDT as applicable in Pinellas County, Florida). Check the electronic online auction calendar for the dates of upcoming tax deed sales at www.pinellas.realtaxdeed.com. The sale date of a particular property is subject to change without notice.     TAX DEED SALES - Online Listing

    Tax Deed files and document images are available for viewing online at www.pinellasclerk.org/tributeweb. Notices of pending tax deed sales are published in a newspaper with local circulation. Unless the property is redeemed prior to the sale, the sale is held in accordance with Chapter 197, Florida Statutes.

    All properties are sold “AS IS” and bidders are responsible for conducting their own research as to the condition of the property and the state of the title of the property being sold. There may be encumbrances (outstanding judgments, current year’s taxes, and other liens) that survive the tax deed sale and become the responsibility of the winning bidder. YOU MUST DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH FOR EACH PROPERTY or consult with someone who can advise you legally. The Clerk’s Office makes no warranties or representation about the location or condition regarding any property, the condition of structures or fixtures, its marketability, existing or potential uses, zoning regulations or laws that may affect current or future uses of the property, outstanding or potential liens, mortgages or encumbrances or defects in title that may exist.     Declaration of Domicile

    A Declaration of Domicile is a sworn statement of permanent residency. It also states that you intend to maintain this county as your permanent residence.

    If you are an American citizen, you will need to bring:

    • A valid form of identification such as a driver's license or a Florida issued identification card. An out-of-state driver's license is acceptable.
    • Your previous address and your present address.

    If you are not an American citizen, you will need to bring proof of your PERMANENT alien status issued to you by Immigration in addition to those items listed above.

    Fees are established by legislative action and are subject to change. Refer to a current "Schedule of Service Charges" available in any Clerk's Office location, or online, for applicable fees.
