December 22, 2015 - Couples Registration Now Open for Clerk's 10th Annual Valentine's Day Group Wedding at Florida Botanical Gardens
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - Ken Burke, Pinellas County Clerk of the Circuit Court & Comptroller, has announced that registration is now open for the Clerk's 10th Annual Valentine's Day Group Wedding. Up to fifty couples are expected to be joined together for one group wedding ceremony on Valentine's Day, Sunday, February 14, 2016 in the romantic and picturesque Wedding Garden of the Florida Botanical Gardens in Largo.

December 2, 2015 - Pinellas Clerk Named Community Advocate of the Year
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - Ken Burke, Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller in Pinellas County, was recognized by the Florida Statewide Guardian ad Litem Office with the Community Advocate of the Year 2015 Sixth Judicial Circuit award. Clerk Burke was publically acknowledged for his admirable level of support for the Guardian ad Litem's program and mission. The special recognition took place at Shorecrest Preparatory on November 30th among 300 attendees.

October 13, 2015 - Pinellas Clerk's Office Honors Domestic Violence Awareness Month
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - October is nationally recognized as Domestic Violence Awareness Month and the Pinellas County Clerk's office is once again dedicating several activities to help raise awareness of this serious and preventable crime. "It is a time to shed some much needed light on an issue that affects everyone, not just the victim" said Ken Burke, Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller. In the last year, over 4,500 Injunction for Protection petitions (commonly called Restraining Orders) were filed with the Clerk's office.

September 18, 2015 - Pinellas County Division of Inspector General Working to Receive 2nd Statewide Reaccreditation
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - Pinellas County Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller, Division of Inspector General (Pinellas County IG), is undergoing its 2nd Commission for Florida Law Enforcement Accreditation (CFA) assessment to retain its state level reaccreditation. The Pinellas County IG became the first local government agency in the nation and first Florida Clerk of the Court and Comptroller's office to be awarded the status as an Accredited Office of Inspector General by the CFA on February 3, 2010 and achieved their first reaccreditation on February 21, 2013. The examination is part of a voluntary process to gain reaccreditation, which is a highly prized recognition for Offices of Inspector General professional excellence.

The introduction of this new service provides the public a convenient and secure portal to pay their parking tickets with just the click of a button. April 22, 2015 - Pinellas Clerk Helps You "Cover Your Assets" With Property Fraud Alert
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - The Clerk's office has officially launched a proactive subscription service that offers citizens peace of mind in the protection of their property's title. The Property Fraud Alert is a program initiated by Ken Burke, Pinellas County Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller, to help the public protect their property against fraud. Customers signing up for this free service will be notified immediately, either by phone or email, of any document recorded against their property in the Official Records of the Pinellas County Clerk's office where deeds, mortgages and other documents are recorded.

April 8, 2015 - Pinellas Clerk's North County Branch Receives a Perfect Score on the Passport Acceptance Facility Review

An Acceptance Facility Oversight Program compliance visit was conducted and the branch earned a perfect score. April 6, 2015 - Pinellas Clerk Releases Popular Annual Financial Report and Comprehensive Annual Financial Report for the Fiscal Year Ended September 30, 2014
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - The office of Ken Burke, Pinellas County Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller, released the Citizens' Guide to County Finances (Citizens' Guide), also known as the Popular Annual Financial Report (PAFR) and the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) for the fiscal year ended September 30, 2014. The Citizens' Guide is an easy-to-read financial report designed to inform Pinellas County citizens where County revenues came from and where the money was spent.

March 20, 2015 - Pinellas County Clerk joins the Florida Court Clerks & Comptrollers in Celebrating Sunshine Week
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - The national initiative known as "Sunshine Week" will be celebrated during the week of March 15 through March 21, 2015. Sunshine Week is known for promoting open-government awareness, freedom of information and community empowerment. This year is particularly important as it highlights the initiative's 10 year anniversary. One year ago, Ken Burke, Pinellas County Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller, launched a website completely focused on financial transparency. "Our commitment to accessibility became the breeding ground for a financial transparency initiative that would allow anyone to access such information with just the click of a button," said Ken Burke, Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller for Pinellas County, Florida. The sole purpose of the Clerk's "Spending in the Sunshine" website is to give citizens an avenue to explore all the expenditures within Pinellas County Government.

February 10, 2015 - Pinellas Clerk Waives Collection Fees during "Wipe It Clean in 2015" Initiative
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - The Clerk's office has dedicated one week towards the end of February to help you start the New Year on a clean slate. The Pinellas County Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller will waive your collection fees for a limited time only when you visit any of the locations below to pay your outstanding fines and fees in full. Anyone with a ticket or court fine in collections can visit any of the locations below during the week of Tuesday, February 24, 2015 - Saturday, February 28, 2015 to avoid paying the collection fee.

February 10, 2015 - Valentine's Day Group Wedding Ceremony at the Florida Botanical Gardens
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - Sixty-eight couples have signed up to be joined together in matrimony on Valentine's Day, Saturday, February 14th in the picturesque Wedding Garden of the Florida Botanical Gardens in Largo. The 9th annual Valentine's Day Group wedding event, organized by Ken Burke, Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller, is open to the public as love is recognized and celebrated on this very special day. Couples must have applied for their marriage licenses by Tuesday, February 10th in order to participate in the Valentine's Day group wedding. The Clerk has waived the usual $30 fee to perform the marriage ceremony. All other standard marriage license fees apply.

January 30, 2015 - Pinellas Clerk's Self Help Center Now Offers Convenient Online Appointment Scheduling
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - The Clerk's Self Help Center now offers the public the opportunity to conveniently schedule attorney consultations online. With this new feature, anyone can easily schedule their attorney consultations by visiting the Clerk's website at www.mypinellasclerk.org. The accomplishments of this program are deeply rooted in the assistance offered to self represented litigants as they face complicated and emotionally taxing legal matters. "Our Self Help Center has become an invaluable resource for our community and this new online scheduling feature aims to further facilitate the process of helping customers navigating the legal system on their own," stated Ken Burke, Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller.

Up to fifty couples are expected to be joined together for one group wedding ceremony on Valentine's Day, Saturday, February 14, 2015 in the romantic and picturesque Wedding Garden of the Florida Botanical Gardens in Largo. At this point, over 30 couples have already reserved their place to take part in the group wedding and many more are expected to sign up as the deadline approaches.
